Description

The QSorter Explorer can transport small agricultural products “One by One” at a very high speed (i.e. more than 50 grains per second), analyze and sort them individually with respect to biochemical properties (e.g. protein content, oil content) and external traits. This innovative and unique Swiss-made device is based on high-resolution Near Infrared (High-Res NIR) spectroscopy sensors, which enable a non-destructive and non-invasive assessment of the biochemical traits of the kernels. A dedicated FPGA-camera measures instead external traits. Standard laboratory analyses are carried out on a high number of kernels, which are screened “One by One”. Only this approach can guarantee a high-degree of fidelity in the developed prediction curves. Now breered and wheat millers can finally run multiple sorting tests on several varieties, easily perform cross-validation tests, concentrate on analysis and production of new exciting results, and to produce flour mixes. QSorter comes also with custom possibilities and gives users the chance to tailor the software to their precise needs.

QSorter Explorer has been developed by QualySense along with leading US and Swiss research institutes such as the USA Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Swiss Federal Institute for Material Research (EMPA), and the Swiss breeding station of AGROSCOPE.
